Beaumont City Fire Explorer Post

Is your child interested in the fire service? If so, Beaumont Station 66 has a Fire Explorer Program that helps gear young adults towards a career in the fire service.

The Beaumont City Fire Explorer Post is designed to teach young adults different skills that are essential to the fire service, as well as their everyday life. Fire Explorers learn teamwork, camaraderie, responsibility, and goal setting through classroom and hands-on training that is presented by experienced firefighting staff and other professionals throughout the community. Some of the topics covered are:

  • Fire chemistry
  • Types of hose and hose loads
  • Ladders
  • Wildland and structure firefighting
  • Fire apparatus
  • Medical aids

Requirements

  • Be at least 14 years of age and have completed the 8th grade
  • Have a minimum grade point average of a 2.0
